Kumoricon & Connichi 10/3/12
Hey guys, I'm back from vacation and am slowly making updates from Kumoricon and Connichi. These cons were back to back and both were really cool learning experiences. At Kumoricon, NOTN MCed the cosplay competition. It was a huge honor and also hugely terrifying but I think we did well! Connichi was my first International convention and was a total eye-opener for me. The German cosplay scene is very similar to the US scene in a lot of ways, with very distinct differences. I'll be sure to write about more in my convention reports, which you can check out in the "Con" section.
New Skit! All Eyes on Me 5/30/12
I'm back from Fanime. Unfortunately, I only had a mediocre time this time around but I hope to have some pictures to share soon. One of the positive parts of the con was performing our newest skit "All Eyes on Me" which is posted in the Skits section. It's a Kuroshitsuji skit which focuses on Ciel and Sebastian's whirlwind introduction to the quirky characters of the Noah's Arc Circus. I'm really proud of how it turned out and I hope you enjoy it too! I'll be back with pictures and a con report soon.
Updates Galore! 4/11/12
Katsucon and Anime Matsuri have come and gone - please poke around the site to find updates from both cons. I added two new costumes: Yukiho from Idolm@ster and Rise from Persona 4. I also added my Katsucon con report to the "Events" section. Finally, I added a new section called "Tips" which I hope will help others in their cosplay projects. Please leave a comment in the chat box if you have any suggestions/questions! Next up is Fanime, my biggest con of the year. NOTN will be performing a skit and I've got a new costume to make so I need to get to work!
Katsucon 2012 2/13/12
Hi everyone. It's just days away from my first con of 2012 - Katsucon! It will be my first time attending an east coast conventiona and I don't think I could be more excited! One of the highlights of the con is getting to be involved with the US WCS preliminary competition. I will be serving as a judge (along will past competitors from 2005, 2008 and 2009) and it looks like it's going to be a really fierce competition. I am also aiming to put together a vlog of my Katsu experience so, assuming I actually go through with it, I will be sure to post the link here as well. Hope to see you at the con!
Anime Matsuri 2012 Cosplay Guest! 9/11/11
I come bearing good news - in 2012 I will be returning to Anime Matsuri as a Cosplay Guest! Last year, I was extremely fortunate to serve as a judge in Anime Matsuri’s cosplay competition and I am so happy to be back this year! I will be joined by the talented seamstress and performer SparklePipsi and prop master Bill Winans. AM is really a great con and I encourage everyone to check it out! At least take a look at their website because it's pretty dang sweet, IMO. Bye for now! Hopefully, I will be back with some Katsucon costume plans soon. So many costume ideas, never enough time..
A lot has happened since my last post! In April, I attended Sakuracon and this past weekend I attended Fanime. I will post reports for both cons but in the meantime, I wanted to post a link to our Portal skit from Fanime. We were very surprised to win the award for Best Dramatic Presentation but are even MORE shocked by the attention it has received online. It's absolutely nuts! So far the skit has been featured on G4's Attack of the Show, Kotaku and even MSNBC. If you would like to watch it, you can see it here
Goodbye 2010! 12/19/10
As the year comes to an end, I finally found the time to make some updates to the site. I attended Youmacon at the end of October and, as always, had a really fun time! To read about the con and see some photos of my newest costume (Sakura), please visit the Cons page. With Youmacon being the last con of the year, let me say thank you to everyone who made 2010 so fantastic. It was such a busy, challenging and rewarding year and I can't wait to see what 2011 brings.
Back to Reality 9/6/10
It's been a while but so much has happened since my last update. For about 6 weeks, my friend Krystal and I worked very hard to prepare for the World Cosplay Summit. We pumped through many sleepless nights to make our new costumes/performance. However, the hard work was completely worth it because we both had an incredible time! The WCS was everything I hoped for and I'm so lucky I was able to be a part of it. Now that I've been back for a while, I've had a chance to make some big site updates - please take a look around.
