Why I made it

I have only played Street Fighter a couple of times, however, I am a huge fan of Puzzle Fighter! When my friend Joe and I decided to go to Ohayocon in 2008, it was a very last-minute decision and thus a last-minute costume was in order. I decided to cosplay Sakura because I already owned 75% of the materials, I was on a huge Puzzle Fighter kick at the time and Joe was going as Ryu.

How I made it

It was very easy to make and was started and finished 2 days before the con. A fun fact: the sailor collar was actually the first thing I ever sewed by myself. It was originally meant to serve as Puchiko's collar from Digi Charat but I never quite got around to finishing that costume. I'm glad the collar finally has a purpose! I drafted the shirt, skirt and tie. The gloves were the only part of the costume that gave me trouble becuase I decided to make them using hot glue, which did not stick to the pleather.

Final thoughts

I've had several opportunities to wear this costume and always have a good time. I look like a boy with such short hair but it's all goooood.
